I will very shortly be on maintenance and I've had a lot of questions about what foods I eat while on it. If you have been reading my posts since day one then please disregard this one. My consultant wants to make sure I have a cup of whole milk, a fruit, starch, and 3g or more of protein with about 5g or less of fat and less than 200 calories. This leaves a wide variety of things to eat. I don't add butter or margarine to things and I use sugar-free syrup when desired. What are my favorite breakfasts?
- 2 Nutrigrain Waffles with 1/4 cup sugar-free syrup
- serving size of Fiber One or Buckwheat pancakes with 1/4 cup sugar-free syrup
- 100 cal English Muffin with 1/4 cup Break-free eggs and a Morning Star Veggie Sausage
- Cinnamon Cheerio's with cup of fat-free milk
- 1/4 cup Break-free eggs with a serving size of hash browns (you can find them in the dairy section) I like the southwest flavor.
- Tortilla cooked into a burrito with 1/4 cup break-free eggs and one Laughing Cow Slice of Cheese melted in it
Those are probably my top 6 favorite breakfasts that are all low-fat, low-sugar, low-sodium! I was inspired after a friend said, "You don't eat waffles do you?" Absolutely, girl! Just be on the lookout for whole grains when you're able to!
