Continued from 10/25/10. Just as I had discovered I was 10 cm dilated my Dad finally arrived. He had worked half a day and then went to take care of his dogs as well as ours. I was so happy to see him before delivery. My Dad and I have a special bond and he was always the one to comfort and soothe me growing up (lol does him being a therapist have anything to do with his amazing gift?!). So even now when I am sick the moment I talk to my Dad I burst into tears. This same thing happened when he walked into the room. It was just moments before I was going to push and I was terrified. My Dad wishing me good luck and holding my hand for a few moments had me bawling! Next thing you know, everyone in the room was bawling: my husband, Mom, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and one of my best friends. It was very emotional. Here I was bawling and chattering so hard you could hardly understand a word I was saying. The nurse told everyone it was time to push and they needed to go to the waiting room. All the sudden I knew who I wanted: my Mom, my friend, and my Dad. My husband wanted his Mom in there as well and I had no problems with this. All of the sudden I didn't care about how exposed I was going to be; I wanted to share this incredible moment with some of the people I loved. Previously I had thought I would care but I was overwhelmed with emotion and couldn't imagine them not being there. They all followed directions very well and prepared their seats along the wall. This was it...I was finally going to start pushing. To be continued...
