Today was my work baby shower. A group of my closest friends planned, funded, and threw the party for me and it meant so much. We also have to stay after school on Thursday until 9 for an Open House so I knew it was asking a lot to stay after again today. How nice to have such loving and generous colleagues. I can't say enough how much I love my job and the people I work with!
I sure have realized that no matter whether I am pregnant or not sugar and I are not friends. At the shower they had one of my favorite cakes with cream cheese in the middle layer of the cake. I literally only had a sliver, about enough for maybe 3 small bites of cake and I felt awful afterwards. It made me feel like I was high, my heart was pounding, I felt nauseous and a little shaky. I hate that feeling. It also gives me, in my opinion, bad breath. I think I have craved sugar more during my pregnancy but the after effects are miserable and not worth it. I guess that is an incentive to stay away from sugary things!
TUESDAY
Breakfast -
2 Kashi Waffles with 1/4 cup sugar-free syrup
3/4 cup strawberries
1 cup fat-free organic milk
Lunch -
Lean Cuisine Spinach Alfredo Pizza
Carrots
Fat-free yogurt
Snack -
1/2 cup mixed fruit
Dinner -
Baby Shower
4 pinwheels with turkey, lettuce, tomato, cheese
1 scoop of taco dip with low-fat wheat thins
Veggies with low-fat dip
Snack -
Small slice of cake
