I've just received my first issue of a periodical published by the non-profit Center for Science in the Public Interest called Nutrition Action Healthletter. I was impressed. My husband and I read it cover-to-cover while driving home from our weekend away. Articles ranged from the importance of potassium, magnesium, and vitamin D, and what foods you can get these vitamins from. It discussed how inactivity for 6 hours or more (because your working on a computer or sitting and watching t.v., etc.) The article discussed how inactivity for long period of time, in adults (male or female), whether you workout during that day or not, can lead to a greater risk of dying.
One of the most disturbing articles involving synthetic food dyes in commonly eaten foods and the health risks that these dyes bring on. They particularly discussed Red dye 40, Yellow # 5 and # 6. I’m going to investigate this further and I’ll get back to you on what I uncover.
The more information we all have, the better educated choices we can make for our own lives!
