Tukey Survival Tip #3: EXERCISE.  Since I was a little girl it's been my family's tradition to go to the Cincinnati Nature Center and do a long hike.  We would usually go for about an hour to two hour hike with our dog.  Since I've been married I have continued that tradition and every year my husband and I now hike down the huge hill to our creek with our dogs.  This year it was much more intense.  We hiked a mile over to my sister-in-law's house, about a mile around our fields edge, and down the huge hill but this time with a 13 month year old.  He wasn't so fond of being on my husband's back like he usually is on hikes.  In order to appease him, my husband and I had to trade off carrying him...including back up the hill.  It was a rigorous workout to say the least.  But, hey, it makes, for a great calorie burner just hours before the big feast!  Try implementing some sort of exercise into your tradition on Thanksgiving Day.  I have a friend who runs the Turkey Trot every year.  These are great examples of how to not expand your pant size just from one dinner.
