It's all about making good choices and planning your meals out.  Today I'm going to sit down and map out my one day of maintenance and then decide everything I need to purchase at the grocery store tomorrow.  Taking the time to sit down and plan out your week and then REMEMBERING to take your grocery list with you to the store or key to being successful at both weight loss and maintenance.  It takes a little thought and time but it's worth it if you are dedicated to staying healthy. 

Tonight we are surprising my Dad and taking him to the Golden Lamb for a retirement party.  His 8 brothers and sisters will be there to surprise him.  I'm so excited because he is such an giving and kind-hearted person; it's nice to be able to do something for him for a change.  Diet related this means getting on their website and deciding what I can eat so I can stay low-fat and be able to also enjoy a glass of wine.  I just glanced at the menu and of course, it's all meat and potatoes styled cooking (delicious, I'm sure, but not on the plan).  So, I've decided to ensure it's low-fat by ordering the shrimp cocktail, a plain baked potato, and a Caesar salad (plain) so that I can have a glass of wine as my fat.  This is a balanced meal of protein, starch, and veggies for minimal calories and fat.  If it weren't the week of Thanksgiving I may have branched out more but not tonight.
