I am dealing with a great deal of personal disappointment in my personal life which is affecting my exercise intensity and energy level. I am getting divorced, and the stress affects my IBS. Historically, I've always depended on exercise as a stress relief. To not get that immediate release now is a challenge to me. I have not given up on the process.

The disappointment of the process and details (people deal with this every day whether it involves financial losses, divorce, death, job loss...) can erode your resolve to keep healthy and eat clean. I'm using all my skills NOT to let that happen. I challenge you to do the same if you are also facing a difficult time.

Let's work together to rise above these difficulty that we face. Let's make our best health the priority.

Thursday 10/06/11- Exercise Diary:

Legs/back DVD- 55 minutes(that time includes stretching 5 minutes before and 5 minutes after)

bike on street- 15.23 miles- It was a GLORIOUS fall day, and my bike ride was a little slice of heaven

Thursday 10/06/11- Eating Diary:

Day A

7 am- 4 egg whites (67 cal)

2 oz.steel cut oatmeal + cinnamon ( dry weight) (241 cal)

11 am- protein shake (160 cal)

1 banana (90 cal)

2 p.m.- 5 oz Monk fish- "poor mans lobster" (150 cal)

8 oz mixed greens ( spinach, broccoli, broccoli slaw, pea pods,tomato, asparagus) (88 cal)

3 oz quinoa ( 150 cal)

1/2 tsp Uda oil- Find in refrigerator at health food stores (65 cal)

Dinner.- 3 oz turkey meatloaf (150 cal)

3 oz mashed sweet potatoes (oven roasted in skin) (64 oz)

asparagus roasted with rosemary EVOO, garlic, balsamic vinegar(88 cal)

8 p.m.-oven roasted pear with creme fraiche, craisons (288 cal)

TOTAL CALORIES: 1668

Hi Paula,  I had a stressful day last week, which tunred out to be positve by the end of the day...Your Blogging helped me out once again...I was ready to reach for a double ice cream sundae..the works..but talked myself through and out of the sweets temptation which I felt would bring me instant comfort.  Instead......I went home and made a really, really healthy dinner for me and my family.  I also did a short walk..and felt a whole lot better!  Mentally and physically and kept on track with my weight.  I can't thankyou enough for sharing joys and challenges in your life and how you keep on taking care of yourself.  When I look at your food blog it helps when I plan on my eating for the day.
Also am back with my trainer.  I feel pretty sore, but no pain.  I am heading to the gym tomorrow, after my walk outside in the morning.  I look forward to hearing more health tips and your clean eating.
Prayers start my day and remind me how I should be towards my family, friends and strangers.  Christ's teaching stays with me throughout many challenges too and how to handle them.  Your blogging stays with me and I try and have made healthy changes with food.  Matter of fact, I had a bowl of whole grain cereal, and skim milk for tonights snack.

How great to hear that you were drawn TOWARD making a healthy choice for YOU!  I find that exercise helps 'clear your head',  as well as increases your energy, and help you reach your fitness goals.
No one ever said this process was a breeze.  There are alot of temptations, and stress that encourage you to reach for those cookies.  But if you had eaten them, after you'll feel more depressed that you feel bloated and fat, and tired because your crashing from the low off your sugar buzz.  The ideas you did would have been exactly what I would have suggested.  Thanks for sharing with everyone, and 'like' my blog on Facebook to share with your friends.
