The Silent Killer

Untreated gum disease known as Periodontal Disease most often will be the leading cause of tooth loss. It's called the "silent killer" because in many cases there is no pain associated with periodontal disease. Untreated periodontal disease leads to bone loss around the tooth roots causing the teeth to become loose to the point where they cannot be saved. The best solution is extraction of the affected teeth and placement of dental implants. Dental implants are a much better alternative to dentures. Dental implants will preserve the remaining bone and restore function and cosmetics.
