8/6/15 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Saturday

Yesterday I told you that I was going to a staff party.  Even though I had a plan of attack to balance the beverages I was drinking that night; I must stress the importance of living your life.  Sometimes you may have a drink or you may have a thin slice of cake.  Don't make yourself crazy with worry about your weight loss.  I made good choices to balance things out and the rest is out of my control.  It's up to me to then just relax and enjoy myself - which I did!  I had a great time.  Since our son was at an overnight with Grandma, this was the first time I felt I could be completely free to do any kind of workout regime I wanted.  I absolutely hate running but something in me just wanted to do it.  So my husband and I got out and went running before the party.  I was nervous and stressing.  We were going to walk 1 mile and then run the next.  I've never been able to do it on our driveway before without some serious panting and angst.  I don't know if it's the stamina I've built from riding or what but we did 4 miles and the 2 miles I ran I was hardly even winded!  I was so proud of myself!  I hope to try it again another day this week since it's supposed to be cooler outside. I sure did exceed my expectations of myself!
