06/20/15- Paula's Eating/Exercise Journal : Monday

I wanted to pass on a product-warning that I saw in the July issue of Shop Smart Magazine (which is published by Consumer Reports).  They stated that women who take the birth-control pills named Beyaz, Yaz, Yazmin or other contraceptive pills containing the hormone drospirenone, may want to discuss birth-control alternatives with their physician, especially if they are prone to blood clots.  http://www.cincinnati.md/articlepage_cn.aspx?cn-documentid=652161&query=warnings about drospirenone&s=1&cat=con .(cut and paste this url for an article from YourCity.MD).

Two recent studies showed that the risk of developing clots was 2-3 times higher among women who use these pills.

Talk with your physician and discuss these risks.  There are other options for birth control, but at the very least, a conversation about your risks is important.
