Yesterday was my son's baptism which went perfectly!  I had a lot of anxiety about various things (would the weather be nice so people could eat outside since our house isn't very big?  would we get back in time for the caterer?  would my son go crazy when the water was poured over his head?  would other family and friends that were not invited be hurt or would they understand?).  I think this last question was my largest worry; I just like everyone to be happy.  But, the fact is, my husband and I both have large families and a lot of close friends.  If I invited all it would be 280 people.  I alone have 36 cousins (this does not include spouses or their children!).  I really couldn't choose between family or friends because it wouldn't be fair.  But, inviting them all was not an option; we just can't afford it and don't have enough space.  We ended up doing immediate family (grandparents and great-grandparents, our frequent baby-sitter, and only 2 friends that we've known since grade school - that was it.  We will save our son's birthday's for these ridiculously large events!

But, the weather ended up holding out which allowed for us to enjoy our beautiful deck, the caterer was on time (and so were we!), the food was delicious, and my son was an absolute angel for the entire baptism and party.  Everyone got along - there was no family drama.  I am so happy that things went well.  I know it's silly to have anxiety but when I'm hosting a party I always seem to have it the day before.  I'm so thankful for our family and friends.  Our son has been the best thing my husband and I have ever done.  Smile
