5/31/15 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Tuesday

Being a mom is the hardest yet most incredible thing I've ever done.  You are definitely no longer always about yourself; your're responsible for another little human being. 

Currently I have 3 friends going through amazing experiences in their own journey as a parent.  One friend had baby #2 today and I'm excited to listen and hear stories about being a parent of 2.  She's the first of my friends to now have two children.  I have another friend who is being induced today because her fluid was low.  Lastly, my best friend finds out the sex of her baby who is due the day after our son was born!  A lot of exciting baby news all in one day! 

 It makes me reflect on my time thus far as a parent.  Our son is 7 months old and he gets more fun everyday.  My son is starting to realize when his parents are or are not in the room.  He searches with his eyes and gets a frantic look on his face.  This moment of realization that his parents are missing tells me our son really knows who we are.  In the future this could drive me crazy, but for now, it makes my heart melt. 

I've also found my maternal instinct to kick in at random times.  We were at a family party the other night and he was around a lot of familiar faces that he knows quite well.  I was in another room and he started crying his little heart out.  I can no longer focus on the conversation I was once engrossed in because I am waiting to see if he is being consoled or if I need to go in there and get  him!  It takes everything in me not to come in and swoop him from their arms...but I know this would not be healthy for FJ nor for me but it's really difficult. 

Breakfast -

JC Blueberry Pancakes with Veggie Sausage and 1/4 cup sugar-free syrup

Banana

1 cup coffee with 2 tsp. fat-free creamer

Snack -

JC Anytime Bar 

Lunch -

JC Cheesy Potatoes and Chicken

Grilled Veggies (eggplant, onions, squash, zucchini, and mushrooms)

Snack -

Strawberries 3/4 cup (from our garden...yum!)

Dinner -

JC Rising Crust Pizza

Salad (mixed veggies, tomatoes, mushrooms) 2 tbsp. light ranch

Snack -

JC Triple Chocolate Cheesecake
