5/4/15 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Wednesday

Since just about February our website has welcomed veterinarians to our site.  Now we are building our database to include rating your vet's as well.  Over the weekend some of our closest friends just adopted 2 lab puppies...cutest things ever (I'm not biased or anything...since we have 2 labs of our own!).  My friend was describing how difficult it is to walk to lab puppies (they are about 6 months old; so they're pretty big already) at the same time.  I couldn't agree with her more!  Our dogs are fairly well-trained (they would be even better if I'd taken them to puppy school) and we walk them both with choke collars.  They really only seem to pull if there's an animal they're excited about; otherwise they're not too difficult to walk.  But, if they both get excited at the same time - game over.  I'm all of 5'3, 130 some pounds and it takes all of my strength to get control of my dogs.  She was telling me that soon she is taking them to the vet near her to get check-ups.  This got me thinking that I wanted to rave about my own vet on here...

We have used them for six years and they are absolutely wonderful!  The assistant travels out to YOUR house.  If you have large dogs, more than one, or dogs that are fearful of going to the vet Home Veterinary Care travels to you and it really has put our dogs at ease.  They do all of the regular check-ups in their traveling Mobile Home.  It's clean and SO EASY!  I can't say enough nice things about the staff either.  If you do need surgery or have an emergency the only down side is that you have to travel to their office which is in Newport.  So, if you're looking for a new vet and a low-stress experience definitely try them out!
