3/8/15 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Tuesday

by Katie (Jenny Craig 2009 Poster Girl) 8. March 2014 19:22

It can be just as much pressure to be thin as the bride as the bridesmaid.  I have now been both the largest girl and the smallest girl in the bridal party.  Strange and sad how my mind thinks like that but if any of you struggle with weight I know you've had to have these thoughts occur to you too.  Whether many of us admit it or not; weight is usually not far from many of our minds.  It makes me angry the way things are designed at a lot of wedding boutiques.  For example, if you go down to the wedding destrict in Reading, many of those shops are designed for large quantities of girls to try things on.  I realize how sixchaotic it can be, especially on the weekends in warmer weather, these tiny shops just really aren't capable of holding a large sea of girls.  However, the anxiety that it gives any girl that is a little curvier is awful.  Do you want to try on bridesmaid dresses in a large room, not only amongst your peers, but complete strangers when you're completely embarrassed of your body?!  I hated it.  I tried to quickly shove the dress on as fast as possible without showing any skin or fat rolls.  I was even more embarrassed to have my "size 700" dress exposed to my friend getting married and her family members (the boutique had the bride pick up the dresses when they were ready) and then on what seems like a huge, glaringly white piece of paper my size was circled and then stapled to the front of my "tank" of a dress.  Situations such as these are painfully anxiety ridden for girls that don't have the size 4 body type.
