2/17/15 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Thursday

Today I was at a meeting and couldn't stop being jealous of the breakfast the girl next to me was eating.  She had stopped at Sonic (right there that's unheard of for me) and gotten a "footlong" sausage, biscuit, and gravy meal.  Now I'm usually all for healthy meals but if you've read any of my blogs in the past you know that this is one of my favorite breakfast foods (I haven't indulged in it since high school except for while I was on vacation when I was pregnant).  If I imagine how I felt after I ate it I know I would feel sluggish, way too full, and wanting more in only a few short hours.  I know it's filled with TONS of fat.  But, breakfast is one of my favorite meals of the day and I couldn't help but stare at the woman like it was a bad train wreck.  She wasn't a thin lady by any means, but she wasn't an overweight lady either.  She was just "normal" and man oh man, what I wouldn't give sometimes to just be "normal."  Occasionally I think I would splurge (because I think that's very important so people don't overeat from cravings later) but my body is just THAT abnormal.   I am not exaggerating when I say my body would easily gain 3-4 pounds!  In fact, many of the people I know who are on JC cheat once or twice a week (and I mean cookies, alcohol, a piece of pizza, a bagel, etc.) and still LOSE weight.  What in the world is wrong with my body?  LOL, I'm going to have to get myself out of my self pity by listening to a little Lady Gaga, "Born This Way."  Wink   When will I just accept who I am and stop being jealous of others fabulous metabolisms?!
