2/4/15 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Friday

I thought it would be beneficial for all of you mom's out there that just gave birth to realize it's normal to NOT fit right back into your skinny jeans.  Honestly, you may never or your body may never be quite the same again but you can definitely try to get it as close to "normal" as possible.  The saying usually goes, "It took nine months to gain all that weight so it may take 9 months to a year to lose all that weight."  I, too, thought that I'd be able to do it...I'm not kidding you, I literally tried putting them on the next day!  LOL, I think about it now and can't stop laughing.  Who was I kidding?!  My friend who is a skinny as a rail just had a baby on Christmas and said she hasn't fit back into her jeans yet either.  Well, that shocks me because she looks like one of those lucky ones that pops out a kid and looks exactly the same.  Here's what one doctor on a website I searched said about getting your body back after birth, "Sorry, but it's not tomorrow. "Women need to give themselves a break," says Dr. Wilder. "Don't compare yourself to your friend who can fit back into her size 2 skinny jeans in weeks. That isn't the norm. It takes a lot of time to get your body back."  It's especially hard on women when we see all those movie stars bounce right back to their skinny bodies!  Again, ladies, this is not the norm either!  They have personal trainers, chefs, etc. who help them get there so fast!
