12/18/14 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Saturday

Tonight my sister-in-law kindly offered to have our son spend the night at her house so we could go out with friends.  I was able to celebrate my friend from school turning 30 at her husband's new restaurant that he opened in Clifton: La Poste (which has been getting rave reviews and if I weren't in boot camp I would have already tried his food!).  We had our good friends drive us and we spent the night at their house.  From La Poste we left and headed to a bar to meet a group of our friends; a few friends from school even surprised me when they heard I was going out for the night.  We danced the night away, had a blast, and drank a little too much.  I had already made a conscious decision earlier in the week that I was going to drink regardless of how difficult it has been for me to achieve a weight loss the past week and a half.  My consultant thought I probably should not but I had a few reasons why I opted to drink:  I haven't enjoyed some cocktails in almost a year with the exception of one night 4 weeks after giving birth, nights on our own without the baby are going to be few and far between, and we had a driver and place to stay.  I refuse become consumed with this baby weight.  I will not let it own me.  An occasional "cheat" is acceptable.  I don't do it with food so a night of drinking once every few months is my cheat.  All people need them or you will fall of the wagon completely.  I know that I'm doing the best I can and I will continue tackling the baby weight but not at the expense of a little fun every now and then.  I still need to live.  I have to believe that it will start coming off eventually.  Positivity is the first step, right?

SATURDAY

Breakfast - 

JC Blueberry Pancakes with veggie sausage and 1/4 cup sugar-free syrup

Banana

1 cup fat-free organic milk

Snack - 

JC Vanilla Chocolate Crisp Anytime Bar

Lunch - 

JC Turkey Bacon Panini

Carrots and tomatoes with fat-free poppyseed dressing

Snack - 

Apple

Dinner - 

JC Chicken Fajitas

Broccoli plain because my fat for the day was alcohol

Snack -

JC Cheese Curls (my consultant told me to still eat my snack)

Rum and diets...4 of them
