11/30/14 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Tuesday

This is a totally random comment but I had to post it...I just saw on Yahoo's site today that a Caramel Latte from Coldstone Creamery is 1,790 calories!!!!!  UMMMMM WHAT?!  That is insane!  I would rather eat a gallon of ice cream or a huge Big Mac for all those calories!  

Yesterday I was grocery shopping for mainly produce now that we are on JC.  I did buy some dog items, a book, and a Christmas present but my bill was $160!  This cost plus all the weekly JC food is not going to allow me to pay our bills at this rate.  Wow, not to mention did you know it costs about $12,000 to give birth at a hospital and while our insurance covered most of it (thankfully) it still cost almost $400.  Note to self: do not have children around the holidays anymore.  I was also shocked at how much my palate has changed since pregnancy.  Remember I told you I pretty much hated vegetables?  The mere sight of them made me want to vomit.  It was as if something instantly changed the night of delivery and I loved veggies again.  At the store yesterday I marveled at all the produce I wanted: eggplant, mushrooms, squash, zucchini, broccoli, and loads of salad!  It's so strange to me that being nauseous all the time could make you have an aversion to healthy vegetables.  Strangely enough, my Mom has the same problem right now.  She's been a CRAZY healthy eater all her life and veggies were her main source of food but now that she has all these freak symptoms including nausea she hates vegetables too - especially raw ones.  I wonder why that happens?  

Today is my first weigh in at JC.  I think with what I gained from Thanksgiving and now (oh the joy) of starting my first cycle and feeling bloated, I'm right back where I was when I weighed in last week.  Oh well, at least I hopefully did not gain.  Wish me luck and I will let you know how I do...

Snack - 

Apple

Dinner - 

JC Chicken Parmesan

Salad (mixed greens, tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers) 2 tbsp. light ranch

Snack - 

JC Pumpkin Spice Cake
