Continued from 10/30/10.  The strange thing is, I think my husband and I were shocked sitting there in the dark when the doctor told us the news about our son having pneumonia.  We were too tired to even cry at this point.  My eyes were burning from lack of sleep, plus, they don't really tell you how much pain you'll be in if you deliver vaginally.  My advice?  take the pain medication and use ice packs constantly because your vagina is so swollen you cannot even sit on it.  Truth be told, (this is gross, I warn you) you can get some vicious hemorrhoids from pregnancy and delivery as well.  I felt like I could not sit from front to back with out pain medication and I needed it pretty much around the clock for the first week until the swelling started to go down.  I also had no clue about how much bleeding there is after delivery.  I hadn't eaten really all day and then I'm losing a ton of blood doubled with the epidural still not allowing me to fully walk on my own.  There was no way my body was going to make it to the Special Care Nursery in the middle of the night unless I troubled the nurse to take me up there in a wheelchair.  Truth be told, I knew at this point there was nothing I could do and I was miserable so I decided to try and sleep.  Has anyone told you that is next to impossible when you are in the labor and delivery wing?  All the babies crying and nurses coming in every so often to check your vitals makes sleeping next to none!  To be continued...

Breakfast - 

3/4 cup Bran Flakes with 1/4 cup raisins

1 cup fat-free organic milk

Lunch - 

2 oz. low-fat turkey, lettuce, tomato, mustard, 2 slices whole wheat

Carrots

Fat-free yogurt

Sugar-free jello

Snack - 

Apple

Dinner - 

1 cup low-fat baked ziti (pasta, low-fat meat, low-fat cheese, oregano, basil, marinara)

Salad (mixed greens, tomatoes, croutons) 2 tbsp. low-fat ranch

Snack - 

100 cal pack
