Continued from 10/22/10.  I left off with us on our way to the hospital.  I'm sure if you've never delivered before and especially if you will be soon, you are wondering exactly how those contractions felt.  I kept wondering if the contractions were going to be comparable to my endometriosis or when the zygote implanted.  They were comparable or maybe slightly worse (now if I hadn't gotten an epidural and they would've kept increasing with intensity I can't imagine how much worse they would've been).  We were on the road by 5 in the morning and in between contractions I felt completely normal.  During the in between times it would make me doubt if I was really going into labor because I felt fine.  But these in between times were becoming less frequent.  The contractions were now occurring every 4-5 minutes and while they happened it was as if the life had been sucked out of me.  I couldn't focus on anything but on breathing through the pain.  Immediately I was taken into triage where the nurse evaluates my symptoms, consults with my doctor, and decides if I will be admitted or not.  Luckily I was because the contractions just kept getting worse and worse.  I wasn't even in the labor and delivery room 30 minutes before the anesthesiologist came in to administer the epidural.  They have you sit Indian style while a nurse holds your shoulders and you tuck your head in - I kept asking if it was OK for my husband to hold my hand because I knew I would need to squeeze it if it hurt.  To be continued...

SATURADAY

Breakfast -

2 low-fat Nutrigrain whole wheat waffles with 1/4 cup sugar-free syrup

1 Morning Star Veggie Sausage

Banana

1 cup fat-free organic milk

Lunch - 

Apple, Gouda, Spinach Vegetarian Sausage (5g fat) on whole wheat bun

Carrots

Fat-free yogurt

Snack - 

3/4 cup strawberries

2 shrimp

Dinner -

Mixed greens, onions, croutons, strawberries with approximately 2 tbsp. Garlic and Olive Oil Dressing

2 small slices of vegetarian lasagna (whole wheat noodles, sprinkling of goat cheese, light marinara, squash, eggplant, spinach)

Snack - 

Skinny Cow
