10/9/14 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Saturday

I have opted to start doing 1/2 days on Monday all the way until I deliver.  I hate this choice but I'm not sure I could last another week of school being this large and uncomfortable.  It is only within the past few days that now I am swelling up even if it's not hot outside.  The good news is I can still fit my wedding ring on my finger; lol, but my husband will not let me wear it for fear of my fingers getting more swollen and it having to be cut off!  I would much prefer working full days because giving up control of my classroom to someone else is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do.  I lay awake at night thinking of all the things I still haven't prepared my sub for - I'm assuming there will always be something I am forgetting that she needs to know.  Somehow I need to let go and realize that some things she'll just have to do her way and the kids will adapt.  Ugh.  This is so difficult for me.  I keep hearing, "Once that baby comes you won't care about school at all."  I hope that really is the case.  My OCD/perfectionism takes over and I struggle with not being a good teacher right now.  I'm sure it will only soon be coupled with not feeling like a good mom since I have no idea how to take care of a newborn!  I think it's so important for other new mom's to read about my feelings because I bet they're feeling a lot of the same insecurities as me!  It's always comforting to know you are not alone.

SATURDAY

Breakfast - 

1 serving whole wheat pancakes with 1/4 cup sugar-free syrup

Banana

1 cup fat-free organic milk

Lunch - 

Carrots

Fat-free yogurt

2 slices whole wheat bread, lettuce, tomato, mustard, slice of low-fat cheese

Snack - 

Apple

Dinner - 

4 grilled shrimp, small baked potato with spray butter

Green beans with 1 tbsp. margarine

Snack - 

100 cal pack
