7/23/14 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Friday

Today I was in a wedding for one of my good friends. It is always an all day event when you're in the wedding party (at least for me because it's a good excuse to get "the works"...ie. hair, nails, and make up done). I left the house at 11 am to make sure that I had ample amount of time at the salon before the pictures at 4. The problem was with the heat index apparently it was about 100 degrees yesterday. At first I was oblivious. I rode with the top down on my car to run some errands and even though it was hot I wasn't too bothered by it. Then, later, I switched to A/C so I could eat a Subway sandwich on my way to get my hair done. Remember in a previous blog I said I "failed" the preliminary gestational diabetes test and have to have another test next week? Well, it looks like I will probably "fail" the real one as well. My hair girl was carrying on a conversation that all the sudden I could hardly pay attention to. I kept thinking, "Is it hot in here?" Suddenly my body was pouring with sweat and it hurt like pin pricks as it came out. The conversation sounded as if it were taking place in a hallway far away. I couldn't focus, I was dizzy, and I felt like I was going to throw up. To be continued... FRIDAY Breakfast - 1 cup Oatmeal Squares with 1 cup fat-free organic milk and 3/4 cup strawberries Lunch - DINED OUT Flatbread turkey with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mustard Fat-free yogurt Snack - Whole Wheat Roll Nectarine Dinner - DINED OUT (AT WEDDING) 2 oz. roast beef and spoonful of pasta 1/2 plate of mixed vegetables Snack - 1/2 slice of wedding cake
