Wow, I just read a startling statistic from the National Institute of Health, "Most people gain one pound per holiday season."  All of these years of added pounds helps to create the plump, overweight adults many of us are today.  How sad is that?  No wonder I get so much anxiety about all the treats during the holiday season!  Unfortunately my husband falls victim to this statistic every winter as well.  He calls it, his "winter weight."  He hibernates and doesn't want to be very active during the cold weather; couple this with overeating and he's doomed.  The problem my husband has is he can eat healthy and enjoys it; but, put "junk food" in front of him and he cannot hold back.  For example, one year my Mom made a chocolate chip cheesecake as part of my husband's Christmas gifts.  It's one of his favorites.  Instead of having a slice at least per night he ate the whole thing in two sittings.  All the entertaining we did at our house over the past few weeks has left a lot of unhealthy desserts and appetizers in the house.  The past few days he has started to see the consequences and is having a tough time with it.  Luckily for him, once spring hits he becomes active and busy on the farm and he sheds it right off.  Most people are not this lucky and I wonder when the day comes and his metabolism just doesn't run like it used to!  Ah, but boy do I wish I had that luxury at this point in my life!

WEDNESDAY

Breakfast - 

1 cup Organic Honey Nut O's

Banana

1 cup fat-free organic milk

Lunch - 

Jenny Craig Chicken Stuffed Sandwich

Broccoli and celery with fat-free Italian

fat-free yogurt

sugar-free jello

Snack - 

Apple

Dinner -

2 oz. turkey burger

2/3 cup Idaho Instant Mashed Potatoes (80 calories)

Salad (mixed greens, croutons, peppers)

Snack -

1 packet no sugar added hot chocolate

100 calorie pack
