A fun holiday gift idea for yourself or a workout buddy is a fun book I saw called The Daily Fix, by Alexa Fishback, MS,RD.  This book gives you smart, easy ways to cut calories and increase nutrition in a fun readable style.  It answers questions such as, 'need a healthier, happy hour?', 'Not sure what to wear on a date?', or 'what to eat if you feel a snack attack coming on!' 

Another idea is a relativly inexpensive set of exercise tubes from a sporting good store, or a second hand store such as Play It Again Sports.

Frankly, the best gift for a friend is a gift certificate created by you to commit to helping each other stay fit and healthy through weekly walks, classes, or weight training sessions, together!

1/3 cup non fat vanilla yogurt (28 cal)

whole wheat toast (100 cal)

A.M. Snack-

1 apple (87 cal)

 Lunch-

1/2 cup leftover veal dish (45 cal)

Zone bar (120 cal.)

P.M. Snack- restaurant

Chicken pecan salad (190 cal)

mini fish sandwich ( 200 cal)

Dinner- went to a broadway play 

2 oz dark chocolate (180 cal)

1 cup minestrone soup (280 cal)

2 whole wheat bagettes (190 cal)

 TOTAL CALORIES-1520
