Something I don't include on my blog that I just "assumed" people would know is that sugar-free gum is considered a "free food."  I'm going to admit, I chew A LOT of it!  In fact, just recently I bought it in bulk at Costco because I chew so much.  

I can remember holding my breath as a student when teachers would work 1:1 with me in the mornings.  Their coffee breath was atrocious. On several occasions I would tell myself that if/when I became a teacher I would be aware of my sour breath.  I don't always include it on my blog because I forget to add it but I always have a cup of coffee during the work week with 4 Pure Via sugar packets and 1 tsp. of fat-free vanilla creamer (which is about 10 calories).   As soon as I get to school I pop a piece of sugar-free mint gum in my mouth.  It makes me laugh but there's no way I'm going to torture my own students with foul breath - if I can help it!

After lunch there's no denying I have a craving for something sweet.  I don't know if that's some kind of unconscious habitual thing from when I was a kid and my mom packed me a dessert for lunch - or if I truly just want something sugary???  Point being, every day after lunch to avoid eating something chocolatey I pop in a piece of sugar-free fruity gum.  

This trick also works if you're at a party and you don't want to snack on the appetizers.  Chewing on the gum gives you something to do with your mouth still.

WEDNESDAY

Breakfast - 

1 1/2 pieces of whole wheat toast dipped in cinnamon and 1/4 cup break-free egg and put on the skillet

1/4 cup sugar-free syrup

Banana

Coffee w/ 1 tsp. fat-free creamer

Lunch - 

fat-free yogurt

Steamable Brussel Sprouts

JC chicken salad with five crackers and applesauce

sugar-free jello

Snack - 

Apple

Dinner - 

2 oz. whole wheat pasta

1/2 cup Healthy Choice Marinara

2 oz. Laura's Lean Beef

Salad (mixed greens, croutons, green pepper)

2 tbsp. light ranch

Snack - 

JC Cookies N' Cream Cheesecake (about the same as a 100 calorie pack)
