What is the danger of so many foods advertised as "healthy" in grocery stores?

I'm a sucker for 100 calorie packs.  What a great idea for the companies of these products!?!  These treats are usually about the same calories as what they are in a larger prepackaged box.  However, it is up to the consumer to just read the serving size and usually that means being tempted to eat more.   I love the 100 calorie packs (in case you hadn't noticed) but they are typically DOUBLE the cost of the larger package.  The sad thing is, even though I am aware of this I continue to buy the 100 calorie packs because then it is guaranteed I will not binge.

Many packages contain pictures or writing that suggests fruit is included in the product.  Before you go grabbing it off the shelf because you think it may be healthy - check to make sure it really does contain 100% genuine juice.  

Mmmmm doesn't low-fat frozen yogurt sounds good?  Stay away!!! It mostly consists of high-fructose corn-syrup - I have yet to find one that is low in sugar.  It sure would be nice if the frozen yogurt contained natural sugar from plants as opposed to high-fructose corn-syrup which is an artery-clogger that causes you to crave more.  

All of those canned soups that target consumers for weight loss and low-sodium can be misleading.  I love soup - especially in the winter.  But, in order to follow the serving size and stay low in sodium I'm just not getting enough nutrients to be satiated until dinner.  

Find out tomorrow what the mistake of the saying, "I'll just have one" is.

Saturday

Breakfast - 

1/2 cup Fiber One

1/4 cup organic raisins

1/2 cup fat-free organic milk

Lunch - 

Michelina's Lean Gourmet Macaroni and Cheese

Cauliflower

2 tbsp. fat-free ranch

6 oz. fat-free yogurt

sugar-free jello

Snack - 

2 clementine's

Dinner - 

Grilled Chicken Salad

(2 oz. chicken, romaine lettuce) 

Salsa (no dressing) 

Snack -

2 rum and diet cokes

1/2 soft pretzel with no salt
