Handling a social scene which always usually centers around food is never easy!

Tonight we went to a county fair with some friends.  My friend was excited to take me because I have never been before.  All I have heard about is how amazing the food is at the fair.  I was starting to get nervous the more I thought about what was most likely served.  I mean come on, we were in the country, were they really going to have grilled chicken and salads with light dressing?!  I deliberated over what to do, I was going to be with a crowd of people I didn't usually hang around (other than my one friend that I knew well). Yes, I do sometimes get embarrassed over being so picky with what I eat around people that don't know me.  These people are only seeing the after body, they have no idea how hard I worked to get to this point.  I know, I know, I shouldn't care what people think but sometimes it creeps up on me!  

Some of you may be disappointed with what I chose because maybe you wanted me to dive into the funnel cake or fried chicken?  But, I decided to eat at home first.  Plus, I knew I was going to be drinking which was extra calories in itself.  I wanted to have a few drinks more than a small piece of fried chicken with the the fried part peeled off! Wink  THANK GOODNESS I DID!  Have you ever been to a fair or festival?  I guess I really do live in a bubble.  All my friends stopped at various vendors to get fried pork tenderloin sandwiches, cotton candy, chicken fingers and waffle fries literally swimming in grease, and nacho's.  The food alone is a million calories but add all the grease, butter, fattening ranch, bacon, and cheddar cheese...HOLY SMOKES, I was shocked watching person after person shove these items into their mouths.  No wonder so many people are obese.  Who doesn't think it still looks and smells good?  But, that would've just been immediate gratification.  The guilt and anger I would have had afterwards was enough to remind me why I didn't eat it.  Instead, I went back to my friend's house for a campfire and enjoyed a few rum and diet cokes.  

Tomorrow find out how I fend off food cravings while I am out and don't have access to making myself lunch or dinner right away...

Weight - 117.0 lbs.

Exercise - 1 hr. 30 minutes intense hiking (I knew I wanted to have a few alcoholic beverages in the evening)

FRIDAY

Breakfast - 

Jenny Craig Breakfast Stuffed Sandwich (200 cal, 5g fat)

Banana

1/2 cup fat-free organic milk

Lunch - 

2 tbsp. hummus

Cucumbers and tomatoes

2 slices Rye Bread (100 cal, 2g fat)

sugar-free jello

6 oz. fat-free yogurt

Snack - 

Nectarine

Dinner - 

Jenny Craig Rising Crust Pizza (280 cal, 5g fat)

Steamed Cauliflower

Spray Butter and Sprinkle Nacho Cheddar Cheese (no fat since I had alcohol)

Snack - 

3 rum and diet cokes
