I went to see a thoracic surgeon that I know to get a cortisone shot to relieve my 6-month issue with tendonitis (tennis elbow) in my right elbow.. I explained that I have also experienced pain in my rotator cuff on the right shoulder. http://www.cincinnati.md/articlepage_cn.aspx?cn-documentid=640858&query=rotator cuff injury&s=1&cat=con .Though I hate shots and I’m really a big baby, I was sure that a cortisone shot was going to be my solution.
My friend/doctor explained that rotator cuff pain or tendonitis is a result of an impingement with an inflamed rotator cuff and tendon. Bone spurs develop when this agitation occurs.
My doctor asked me to try this prescription medicine (not Celebrex) that may relieve my pain. He asked me to give it three weeks. If the medicine didn’t work, then we could try Cortisone. Well, I’m happy to say I have found some relief! I hope it remains a solution.
My point is to keep your mind open to alternative solutions and seek help rather than suffering.
