In a recent blog I congratulated Jenny Craig for coming in #1 on Consumer Reports for being the most effective way to lose weight. They beat out Weight Watchers and Nutri-System by a Landslide! In fact, the #2 rated diet plan was...(this was a shocker for me!) SlimFast. Wow, I would never do well with a diet program that requires you to drink your meals. If you want to read more about it here is the article from the New York Post, http://www.nypost.com/p/news/national/craig_is_top_heavy_hitter_Le5SprctcoGIp93YLL55XJ. The program also received a high rating for nutritional value! Many people argue that because it's frozen, processed food that it cannot be good for you and the nutritional value must be lacking. In the past year, JC has revamped a lot of their foods decreasing the sodium (which is typically high in frozen foods to make it taste better), the cheese, and sugar. I will not lie when I say I can taste the difference. They kept the meals but just reduced the amount of these items I listed. For veteran JC clients this was a difficult change because we were used to the "old" taste. But, just as with everything else, I've gotten used to the "new" taste. I've found that this same mentality applies to Diet Coke vs. Coke and high sugar foods. I'm so used to low sugar that Coke and other sugary snacks actually have turned me off. It's a mental thing. Start getting into a new habit of low sugar options and you really will get used to it...and actually prefer it. I promise!
