I believe that New Year’s Resolutions are a great way to jumpstart healthy living habits. The problem lies in making resolutions that are too extreme, and then, not accomplishing them or quitting the effort all together. Here are some resolution success tips:
1. Eat breakfast (read blog from Tuesday)
2. Drink lots of water. Try green tea vs. coffee and give up or dramatically reduce dependency on soda pop.
3. Try to make one weekly change toward clean eating that you can keep.
4. Workout 3-4 days per week. If that means walking during lunch, or getting up 40 minutes early, and doing a workout tape, you’ll be rewarded with increased energy and vitality quickly.
5. Eat/pack healthy snacks. Eating a small snack mid-morning and mid-afternoon, which keeps your glucose levels even, and keeps you from reaching for a vending machine goody or gas station candy bar. It also helps you make better choices at meal times and it will keep your metabolism cranking all day.
