10/3/10 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Sunday

by Katie (Jenny Craig 2009 Poster Girl) 3. October 2010 19:15

So one of my friends has recommended that I drink raspberry organic tea because it's supposed to help thin my cervix out.  Is that totally made up?!  Don't laugh, but of course, I had to look that up!  If there's any truth to it then I'm sure going to try it...we are now 1 week and 1 day away from my due date with what seems to me, no indication that he is going to be making his way out anytime soon!  According to this link on Mother & Child Health, "[Raspberry tea has] been shown to strengthen the uterine wall, relax smooth muscle, and help to make delivery easier and speedier by helping the uterus contract more efficiently."  Well, if that's the case - sign me up!  The site does say that it is not scientifically proven but that mother's have been using this for many years.  I don't see any harm in at least drinking some this week and hoping that our son decides to make an appearance!
